Can Marijuana Ease PTSD? A Debate Brews
Scientists say there needs to be more research to prove marijuana can ease PTSD symptoms. Activists counter that the federal government has blocked research and won’t let the VA prescribe it. Increased Medical Marijuana Use Sparks Debate

Tuesday, the American Medical Association, the nation’s largest organization of physicians, called for a review of the US government’s classification of marijuana as a dangerous drug with no medical uses. The Govenator wanted a debate on legalization, and he got one!

First of all, my disclaimer here is that I’m just reporting the news, and I’m not taking sides by reporting this story. That being said, The Govenator (California Governor Arnold Swarzenegger) just announced that he feels there should be a debate on whether or not marijuana, and possibly other drugs, should be legalized. While the pot heads celebrate, they should be aware that if the government gets involved, who knows how much the taxes would be, or what kind of regulations will be imposed. It’s a sticky subject. Could taxing marijuana sales get California out of the budget crunch? What about employers? If it was legal, would they object to you having THC in your system 24/7, if the substance was legal? There are many issues that should be considered in this debate. While continuing with the “drug war” could have some unintended consequences, such as full jails, would legalization of must marijuana, along with government regulation, be a good deal for the average pot head? There is a lot to think about!
