Jack Layton on Marijuana pt2

RE: war on drugs? From: New Democrats (newdemocrats@fed.ndp.ca) Sent: September 18, 2008 2:29:00 PM To: ‘frezno-bob@hotmail.com’ (frezno-bob@hotmail.com) Dear Bob, Thank you for your message inquiring the New Democrat’s position on the failed war on drugs. Canada’s New Democrats are the only national party that actually has a resolution and a policy for decriminalization of marijuana. And, in advocating that position, we understand that we need a drug policy that does not rely primarily on our legal system. This policy must be part of a broader drug strategy that focuses on a health based approach, as recommended by a 2002 Special Committee on the Non-Medical Use of Drugs on which NDP MP Libby Davies played an important role. We want Canada to take steps that reflect a more intelligent and compassionate direction on drug use. Not only have our courts ruled differently on medical marijuana and our government responded accordingly but also there is a growing chorus of established opinion for a different approach to the possession of marijuana for personal use. Decriminalization, we believe, is a first step, but it is not the only step. It is a first step to what needs to be an open debate about the failure of the current practices and the need to focus on the real issues such as: avoiding needless criminalization of citizens; and working with youth on health and social effects – particularly impaired driving. As well, we have been very supportive of harm reduction programs

Canadian NDP leader Jack Layton has Prostate Cancer. Visit Spain or ask Rick Simpson for the cure?

“We have previously shown that Cannabinoids induce growth inhibition (restrict) and apoptosis (cell death) in prostate Cancer PC-3 cells”
    PMID: 19690545

  • EssiacHempLaetrile says:

“Breast and Prostate Cancer cells are also sensitive to Cannabinoid-induced antiproliferation (restrict). Regarding the immune system, low doses of Cannabinoids may enhance cell proliferation (spread), whereas high doses of Cannabinoids (Rick Simpson’s Cancer Cure Hemp Oil) usually induce growth arrest or apoptosis (cell death).”

Correct me if I am wrong, since I am not very familiar with the way drugs function, but I read that people who start taking drugs end up using harder drugs. Won’t people who use marijuana try eventually harder drugs?

  • daren420c says:

No one should ever drive after consuming cannabis, that’s common sense. Anybody that does deserves to be arrested, but not the people that use it responsibly. Cannabis hardly ever causes anyone to act “out of control” as you implied, that’s alcohol. Most people are calm, happy and just want to have a good time, but most of all, to be left alone by police. Cannabis isn’t for everyone that’s for sure, but the people who like it and don’t put others in danger shouldn’t be arrested.

  • LauraArendt says:

What about people who drive while they are high and kill the innocent ? You cannot compare Dutch people (traditionally Protestant and socially responsible) with the Canadian melting pot. Quebec research studies have demonstrated that they can’t even allow people to turn to the right on the red light in that province. Do you think people will control themselves with pot?

  • xvxmatthewxvx says:

I fnd it hilarious how they are talking about this issue with such seriousness over people who want a right to get high. LOL

Pandering to the drug addicts. LOL How low will you go Layton?

  • RockerDaddyTazz says:

He will say this, and at the same time Kick the Medical MJ Users to the street!
I just know that Jack will be gone as leader very soon!
Watch how fast now that Treason has been added to his resamay, with the attempted overthrow and NDP comments like “TANKS ON THE HILL!”!!

If you wanted people watching your video you should have posted it ages ago and not waited until I did it for you. Emery had to message me to do it, where were you? Do your job and stop trying to cut my grass. (Bob gives the finger)

  • TheRealFreznoBob says:

By your attitude that dope smokers should be jailed you should leave this country and move to the states where their facist views might more closely blend with your own.

There’s a difference between supporting a change in law and actively flouting a law. We can’t be electing open lawbreakers, and no deal was required for the ndp to be pro-pot they already were pro-pot. When the ndp get elected I plan to open a coffee shop and wait to get busted because that’s the way it’s done, remember paul magder fighting sunday closing laws, he had to do it in court so man up if you want to play with the big boys.Marijuana and green party have no chance, vote ndp and hope :-)

no wonder they ended up taking spare change handouts from zoned out self medicated bi polar capitalist drug lords.. they can’t even feed themselves in a prosperous nation

    N-ot S-ustainable P-eriod

  • XXkevinheaven says:

Ya PAUL MAGDER= he stayed open on Sundays in Toronto in the 70s’ , got ticketed for Sunday shopping violations, paid the fines and opened for business the next Suday-and so forth for years

Ya it was _him , Spadina Ave Furrier Mr Magdar changed the Sunday shopping laws in Ontario- NOT MARC EMERY

although the Prince of Pot claims it was him alone in his stinky used book shop in London that accomplished this Lords Day Act victory singlehandedly.

Thaks for the historic details.. Bob Pal
