It seems that most people here have forgotten that America stands for truth and justice. Our military and intelligence agencies should not be used as tools of revenge, but to bring our enemies to justice. We cannot expect to convince the world we’re right by ignoring the rights of others. The Germans surrendered during WWII because they knew they would be well treated. The same thing happened in Iraq in GW1. By torturing we only give them reason to hate us and to keep fighting.

now if water boarding was considered torture by a justice of the united states and people were hung for it then there is a precedent on the books. therefore by this time we should have been looking for a tree for bush,cheney ,rumsfeld and anyone else having anything to do with this whichever party they are in…
when people were demanding a bush impeachment ,pelosi said it’s off the table. and now when they should be pursuing bush/cheney for war crimes nothing is being done and it’s because pelosi and other top dems are worried they may go down with bush/cheney as well if there is an actual investigation and we start finding out what really happened during the bush years
Besides, are you telling me Waterboarding is not torture. It’s water going DOWN YOUR THROAT AND NOSE!!! It DOESN’T matter if you hold your breath. It’s not like swimming in a pool. It’s toture. Just because there are worse forms of torture doesn’t mean it’s not torture. By that logic, only serial killers are actual murderers. Everyone who has been waterboarded has said it’s torture. But I’m sure you’d be willing to try it yourself, since it’s just a day at the beach.
If only those in favor of torture realized life is not 24. The ticking time bomb doesn’t exist. It’s a myth created by men like Dick Cheny to justify torture. If there was a ticking time bomb, then why did it take THREE months to get permission to use the “enhanced” (torture) interrogation techniques. Yup, that sure was a ticking time bomb. Did we torture the Nazis? No. We got more reliable information by playing Chess with captured Nazis than by torturing detainees.
I stopped watching at “Who cares” if Nancy Pelosi knew about waterboarding. At least pretend that you are not a partisan puppet if you want to have any shred of credibility.
